birmingham alive!, recommended by the bbc & featured in a number of university of birmingham prosepectuses, is the city's leading online events & gig guide; providing the broadest spectrum of events for the city. on birmingham alive!, almost all of the events are a bus ride away from your home.
users come to birmingham alive! first in order to find out what's on in the city - we have excellent search engine ranking; on google (the benchmark for other search engines) a search for almost anything along the lines of what's on in birmingham or birmingham concerts if it does not show us at the top of the list shows us in at least the top ten, & usually the top five. birmingham alive! receives roughly 1,300 unique visitors per week (roughly one every five minutes), 98% of whom have come as a direct result of searching to find out what's on in birmingham. in 2007 we received a total of 67,443 visitors (average 5,620 per month / 1,297 per week), & in october 2008 we received 5,556 unique visitors to the website (excluding rss feeds).
birmingham alive! is provided as a free service to the community of birmingham by multimedia star-one & hosted by thames global internet services. no money changes hands in the production of this page, neither via salaries nor via sponsorship - though as a trial we are currently experimenting with google ads in order to cover expenses. we are editorially independent from all venues, organisations, bands, & promoters except where explicitly stated otherwise. birmingham alive! takes no responsibility for the accuracy of information included, & especially takes no responsibility for the operation or content of external sites.
