  • Revisit the Jewellery Quarter’s 19th Century past

    Newman Brothers Coffin Works, one of the outstanding survivals of Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter that produced fittings for the coffins of royalty, will be throwing its gates open to the public on Saturday 11th September in celebration of its new ownership.
  • Muntjac deer is a new resident at Birmingham’s Custard Factory

    Instead of lush, green rolling fields or forests, the tiny deer found its way into the River Rea, near the Custard Factory.
  • Asha’s in £3m expansion plan

    BRANDASIA Holdings, part of the Bond Wolfe Group, is set to expand its Asha’s restaurant and Subway chains throughout the Midlands and the UK with the backing of Yorkshire Bank.
  • Art in Judaism
    More Canals Than Venice
    As part of Heritage Open Days and European Days of Jewish Culture and Heritage, the recently consecrated Birmingham Progressive Synagogue will be open on Sunday 12 September from 11-4pm. As well as tours, there will be an exhibition of art by local and international Jewish artists.
