Contrasting the flowery psychedelic rock music of the late-1960s, Silver Apples created an avant-garde sound based on little more than a homemade synthesizer (named the Simeon after their lead singer – Simeon) and an extensive drumkit. HOME OF METAL will be taking up residency in a shop unit in Wolverhampton Thursday 17th June – Saturday 20th June. We’re inviting Heavy Metal fans to bring along their memorabilia and contribute to our Home of Metal archive and view our mini exhibition. On Saturday, rock photographer Steve Gerrard will be there to take portraits of fans in their Heavy Metal t-shirts and Kerrang’s Johnny Doom will be playing some records and it’s all FREE. www.homeofmetal.com
