2 other pirated IPTV services sued by DISH Network

This has been a constant in recent months, but this time it was the resellers of pirated IPTV services, IPTV Set TV and Simply-TV, which were sued by Dish Network, who launched the lawsuit in Florida, United States. .

For those who don’t know, DISH Network is an American television operator based in Englewood, Colorado. They are the owners of Dish Direct Broadcast Satellite, and an IPTV and Sling TV platform. Dish also operates Dish Wireless LLC to provide mobile wireless service and currently has 9.3 million customers and more than 16,000 employees.

In 2018, DISH Network had already sued the hacked IPTV service SET TV for offering several TV channels that were illegally obtained through DISH’s satellite service. In November of the same year, that particular lawsuit ended when the operators of SET TV were ordered by a Florida court to pay approximately $ 90 million in damages. However, DISH was never convinced that its work was complete and it is now certain that it is still in business.

As far as Simply-TV is concerned, the situation is not much different, since in 2019 DISH and NagraStar filed another lawsuit in the Florida court, which targeted several individuals and companies, which were doing business collectively via Simply-TV, a service that costs around $ 20 per month, and which several users have described as having many similarities to SET TV.

DISH Network attacks IPTV Set TV and Simply-TV again

However, DISH complained that Simply-TV was working with entities related to SET TV who capture DISH content without their permission, with Simply-TV also reselling the service to third parties under its own brands, structures and prices. . The Florida court quickly issued a temporary restraining order and later, in April, converted it into a full precautionary measure.

Now Dish Network, with new lawsuits against SET TV and Simply-TV, is demanding a permanent injunction preventing them from illegally obtaining and distributing their television content and from manufacturing, or selling, configured devices and / or subscriptions. .
In addition, they demand that the advertising made by these resellers of IPTV Pirata services be immediately suspended, and demand compensation of several million dollars.
