The Eurogamer staff chatted with Chad Grenier, the director of Apex Legends, and invited him to talk a bit about Season 7 of the game. And in my conversation, what turned out to be more interesting was an “off topic” that turned out to be interesting.
In this conversation, Chad Grenier revealed:
“At the moment we are a Battle Royale game. I think if we look to the future we’re going to have a lot of conversations about, you know, should we go beyond Battle Royale? We have a list of captions that people love – and how else can we use them?
I think for the future you will probably see the game become more than a real fighting game. See, we have all these LTMs and other ways to play. I think this is a good starting point. “
Will Respawn change Apex Legends’ playstyle?
In Season 7 of the game, it revealed that it will feature the game’s third main map, Olympus, and a hovercraft called the Trident. Olympus is a city floating in the clouds which, according to Grenier, began as a concept in Titanfall 3.
Finally, there is a new social feature called Clubs, which makes it easier to form a community and allows players to send party invitations to the entire club. Respawn detailed the new feature in a blog post, which you can access here.
EA announced last week that Season 7 will be released at the same time as the Steam version of Apex Legends, but that the Nintendo Switch version will not arrive until 2021.
Also on November 4th, the Champion Edition of Apex Legends will arrive, it will cost $ 39.99 and includes all Legends through Season 7, seven exclusive Legendary items and over 1000 Apex Coins.
