In an event that is still unfolding (at the time of writing), Apple announced the new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini. One of the points that the company made a point of emphasizing, is the fact that they are compatible with 5G networks, even claiming that the iPhone 12 Mini is the smallest smartphone on the market with access to next-generation networks.
However, despite supporting 5G networks, the equipment will not stay connected to these networks, even if they are available. Apple said it only connects to these networks when necessary to reduce power consumption. And this technology that Apple calls Smart Data mode. It was a good decision from Apple, because we know that the power consumption of 5G networks is much higher, for example, that of 4G.
Inside the gear we’ll have a new chip from the company, the A14 Bionic, which Apple says is the fastest chip ever in a smartphone, and is built in the 5nm process. This chip has a 6-core processor and a 4-core GPU. In addition, the Neural Engine’s ML processing is also much better than its predecessor, as it has 16 cores instead of the previous 8, which guarantees an 80% speed increase. And that, according to Apple, will allow iPhone games to have the same quality as consoles.
But they will definitely want to know the technical specifications of the two pieces of equipment revealed at the beginning of the article.

This smartphone is protected by Ceramic Shield, which offers four / six times more drop resistance than glass from the previous generation.
The photographic sector offers a dual rear camera, with 12 megapixel sensors, the main one with wide angle lens, optical image stabilization and f / 1.6 aperture, and the secondary one is an ultra wide angle sensor (FoV 120 degrees) with aperture f / 2.4. . Both have night mode, which can now also be used with the front camera, which brings a 27% performance increase.
With the iPhone 12 also comes MagSafe, for advanced wireless charging, a system that uses a magnet to achieve a power of 15 watts, the accessories compatible with MagSafe technology are magnetically connected to the back cover of the phone, with a system which looks like what is used in Apple Watch, the wireless charger and a new protective case.
