Apple presents the powerful MacBook Pro with M1 chip and incredible battery life

After announcing the revolutionary Apple M1, its new chip, and its performance, Apple announced a new MacBook Air and a Mac mini equipped with this new processor. But thankfully, these weren’t the only devices featured by the company, as they also revealed which is the first MacBook Pro equipped with the Apple M1.

While not much different from its 13-inch predecessor, at least on the outside, the new MacBook Pro presented by Apple changes completely on the inside. We therefore always find the same design, including its 13.3-inch Retina panel, the Magic Keyboard, the Touch Bar including the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, but inside, the story changes completely and comes with the new Apple M1.

Obviously, the performance has improved significantly over the previous generation of the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Apple talks about 2.8 times the performance on the processor, 5 times more on the graphics, and almost 11 times more on machine learning. All of this, of course, generating less heat, which should allow the computer to show its full potential more often without limiting its performance because of that same heat.

MacBook Pro with Apple M1 chip is now official

The other big positive point is, of course, its autonomy. This new 13-inch MacBook Pro is capable of retaining up to 20 hours of battery life, instantly making it the most standalone portable Mac ever.

Otherwise, we take advantage of its SSD storage, its flash memory up to 16 GB, but also the same “studio quality” microphones as those present in the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Finally, we are entitled to a new image processing of the integrated webcam to offer better quality in these times of confinement, when videoconferencing occupies an important place in our lives.

This new MacBook Pro is now available for sale from 1449 euros. The first deliveries will take place next week. The computer will leave the factory with the new macOS Big Sur, which will be available on all compatible Macs starting Thursday, November 12.
