It looks like Apple’s ambitions for TV are starting to grow, as according to various reports the Apple company apparently plans to release its Apple TV app on more platforms, such as Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
The first information came from staff at Windows Central, who said Apple was working with Microsoft to make the app available on their consoles. The feature was discovered by some Xbox Insiders and later confirmed by Windows Central staff themselves. Meanwhile, the folks at 9to5Mac have said that Apple is also working with Sony on a similar feature, although they also say that for PlayStation, HomeKit can be supported as well.
Apple TV could reach Sony and Microsoft consoles
While the PlayStation is hardly a smart home device, HomeKit support may open up new possibilities, but we’ll have to wait and see how it gets implemented. Apple has already brought its Apple TV app to other non-Apple devices, such as Samsung, Vizio, Sony, and LG smart TVs.
However, this would be the first time Apple has brought it to a console, which is really interesting. With the inclusion of an Apple TV app, most of the time he has to do without the hardware himself to watch movies and series, if that’s what he intends to do.
