Check out the new emoji coming with iOS 14.2

Apple started beta testing for iOS 14.2 some time ago, and the update includes new emoji characters for users. As first reported by Emojipedia, the new emoji options in iOS 14.2 beta 2 include many new features.

These emojis were approved earlier this year as part of the release of Emoji 13.0 by the Unicode consortium. Apple previewed its custom designs for emoji in July, and the launch of iOS 14.2 is the first time everyone has had a chance to get a first look at Apple’s final designs.

Emojipedia explains what’s new in this version:

Two invisible Apple emojis to date include Teared Smiling Face and Disguised Face.

It is also the first time that Apple’s gender variations for people wearing a tuxedo or veil are seen.

Previous versions designated a man to wear a tuxedo and a woman to wear a veil, but these were reclassified by Unicode as gender neutral emojis in Emoji 13.0, paving the way for some consistent options for them. women or men, in addition to the standard person design.

A new emoji will arrive with iOS 14.2

A total of 117 new emojis will be released this year for iPhone, iPad and Mac users, featuring different skin tone options, new gender options, and more.

Every year, Apple registers new emoji options for a one-time update to the major version of iOS for that year. For example, the new emojis were included in the release of iOS 13.2 last year. Apple does this to encourage users to update their devices to the latest, most secure versions of iOS.

This year, with iOS 14, it’s even easier than usual to find the new emoji. One of the new features in iOS 14 is the ability to search the collection of emoji characters. This feature has been around on the Mac for several years, but unfortunately it still hasn’t arrived on the iPad, even with the launch of iPadOS 14 this year.

IOS 14.2 beta 2 is now available for developers, but a version for public beta testers will likely arrive soon as well.
