Crossplay is finally gearing up to reach Apex Legends

Players have been waiting a long time since the game’s launch, but the good news is that CrossPlay is finally coming to Apex Legends starting next week. Thus, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will be able to play together, and keep a list of friends regardless of the platform on which they play.

However, there are still some limitations, such as cross progression which is not supported i.e. if a PC gamer connects to a PS4 or Xbox One, it is as if they had to restart the game.

But here are some explanations from EA regarding Crossplay in Apex Legends:

Before Crossplay, each platform played only with and against other users on the same platform. Now all console players will play together and PC players will continue to play only with other PC players. We want to make sure that PC keyboard and mouse gamers aren’t compared to console gamers, for reasons that should be obvious. If, however, an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 player and a PC player get together, they will be placed in PC matches. This ensures that console games do not contain PC players, but it still allows the console player to play with their PC friend, if they agree.

Crossplay is part of the “Aftermarket Collection” event, which features new cosmetics and the limited-time mode, Flashpoint.

Apex Legends is available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, as well as for the Aftermarket Collection and Crossplay event, starting October 6.
