Too bad for parents all over the world, as this highly repetitive, South Korean-produced song has grown from a simple children’s environment to a worldwide viral phenomenon. The colorful images increase the impact of the song, which in itself has captivating lyrics. And given the pandemic situation we live in, with millions of people working remotely, it’s no surprise that kids are using YouTube, among other things, to spend their time.
Released in 2015, the track is a remake of an American song, and its video was recorded by Pinkfong, a content creator owned by Korean startup SmartStudy. The video presents the rhythmic introduction of a family of sharks and their underwater hunting of small fish. An easy-to-follow dance accompanies the music, which has delighted children and parents around the world.
