Exynos 1080 to be announced on November 12

After a lot of speculation, counter-information and even leaks, it is now official: Samsung will unveil the Exynos 1080 on Thursday, November 12, in 10 days. It is expected to be a new chip for mid-range phones, and its announcement will take place in China.

On a technical level, this Exynos 1080 will be equipped with Cortex-A78 cores and the graphics will be the responsibility of the Mali-G78 GPU. It will be built using the 5nm process, which will ensure a smaller footprint and greater energy efficiency.

If we take into account the benchmark tests that have emerged recently, more specifically of Antutu, then we learn that this SOC will work very similar to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+, although it is a processor that will be dedicated to mid-range equipment, like those of the serious A.

Samsung will present the Exynos 1080 on November 12

Samsung’s top of the line for 2021 will be the Exynos 2100, which will see a huge performance boost over its predecessor, especially when it comes to temperature management and power efficiency. This will likely be the SOC that we find in the next Galaxy S21, and which will directly compete with the Snapdragon 875. And since we are talking about the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875, an Antutu test has recently emerged which has shown that it will perform well above all expectations, leaving behind (far behind) the Apple A14, but we’ve already covered that here.
