Facebook announces tool to manage Facebook, Instagram and Messenger accounts and profiles

The group chaired by Mark Zuckerberg announced the testing of a new tool called Accounts Center which will be offered in the settings of Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. The goal is to give users the ability to manage their connected experiences through this app.

This is an optional feature, as linking your accounts is not required. However, it will allow you to manage posts shared across different platforms from one unified place, and with a single link ID, without needing to switch apps to do so.

Facebook specifies that using the Account Center does not imply having the same identity in all the applications in question. However, name and profile picture in apps can be synced if user wants.

Later this year, in the United States, the Facebook Pay solution will be added to the account center.

“The user will be able to enter their payment information once on Facebook, then use Facebook Pay to securely make purchases and donations on Facebook and Instagram.”

This new tool is a new stone in the Facebook building for the reconciliation of its different platforms. Recalling that the group is also working on the unification of messages for Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp.
