Netflix has officially announced that Jake Gyllenhaal will produce and star a film for its platform: The Guilty One. It will be a Gyllenhaal debut before a feature film.
The film takes place over a single morning at a call center of the famous 911 hotline. Call operator Joe Bayler (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a guy who calls for service, who is in grave danger – but he finds out. soon nothing is as it seems and facing the truth is the only way out.
The film was written by Nic Pizzolatto and is a dramatic thriller based on Gustav Moller’s Danish drama “Den Skyldige”, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.

The film, which still has no date to debut on the streaming platform, also features Peter Sarsgaard (The Batman), Riley Keough (The Devil All The Time), Byron Bowers, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, David Castañeda (The Umbrella Academy), Christina Vidal, Paul Dano (The Batman), Ethan Hawke, Adrian Martinez, Bill Burr, Beau Knapp and Edi Patterson.
The direction will be in charge of Antoine Fuqua, who is known for his excellent work in the magnificent Os 7.
