The MIUI 12 saga has been going on for a few months now, and although some Xiaomi and Redmi devices have already received the long-awaited update smoothly and quickly, the same cannot be said for the Redmi Note 8.
Recently, it was revealed that the MIUI 12 update for this smartphone has started to launch in China, leaving the owners of this device excited about the possibility of getting the long-awaited MIUI 12 / Android 10 soon. However, Xiaomi has just released a software update for the device, V220.127.116.11.PCOMIXM, which is based on Android 9 and with MIUI 11.
It’s not yet that MIUI 12 has arrived on the Redmi Note 8
According to the official Mi Community Forum, the software has a few bug fixes and a more recent security patch. However, this decision has led some users to speculate that Xiaomi is laying the groundwork for an imminent MIUI 12 implementation, and others with the feeling that the firmware will never arrive.
There was recently a rumor that the MIUI 12 for Note 8, outside of China, would start releasing before October 10, however, the source of this information seems to have little credibility as it is the style that me said was a “friend of a friend”.
Now, a member of the Mi Community Feedback Team has simply stated that he has no concrete information on when the MIUI 12 will arrive on the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T, but that he knew it would happen soon.
As such, we will have to wait until Xiaomi finally decides to release the long-awaited firmware.
