Netflix launches new TikTok-style feature

In theory, streaming platforms are all the same, where the big difference is their content. However, as this market is increasingly competitive, platforms are trying to find ways to differentiate themselves from the competition. The quality of the transmission seems to be a strong point (besides the content), but launching something completely different can captivate users.

And so it’s no surprise that the Netflix team is constantly working on new features, some of which will be implemented in the service, while others will be left out (or postponed to a more auspicious time). Well, one of the latest news that the streaming giant has investigated is the so-called “Fast Laughs,” which is a stream of funny, short-form clips of original or exclusive content on the platform.

As Matt Navarra points out on the social network Twitter, this feature refers to the interface of TikTok, one of the most popular social networks of the moment, especially among the very young, and it is precisely to them that this novelty can address.

Fast Laughs Officially Announced By Netflix

It seems that users don’t have the option to like or leave a comment on the same clips, and can only react with a laughing emoji and share them with their friends on social media.

This new feature is currently limited to a small group of users with iOS devices, in only a few select markets.

There is currently no information on when it will be available to Android users as well.
