PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X run the game at 4K and 60fps

As promised, Epic Games has shared a few more details about the next generation of Fortnite, which will reach the next generation of consoles, both from Sony and Microsoft, on the day of its launch.

Fittingly, the best upgrades are coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as these two consoles will have the ability to run the game in 4K resolution at 60 fps, as well as the ability to use split screen.

All next-gen consoles, including the Xbox Series S, will have visual improvements, but the latter, while it can run the game at 60 frames per second, will only be able to do so at 1080p.

However, PlayStation 5 users will still have a bonus, as the new version of the game will support DualSense and has new features that will allow you to take full advantage of the new Sony console controller.

Next-gen Fortnite supports DualSense

Either way, these improvements for the next generation of Fortnite are going to constantly evolve. The programmers’ message ends by hinting that they will explore new ways to maximize the potential of new consoles; maybe Ray Tracing support, recently added to the PC version, is a possibility.

Finally, you can upgrade to the next generation of Fortnite while still keeping all of your progress and purchases made on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One (as long as you stay in the same ecosystem, of course).
