Pokémon GO receives a handful of news

It’s time to take part in another Niantic briefing, where some of the programmers and creatives on the team talk about the new features and additions Pokémon GO players can expect over the coming months. Either hypothesis was voiced in player circles before it was now revealed.

One of the news to be revealed is that level 50 marks the new maximum level. However, the road to getting there will not be “as easy” as before. Of course, capturing Pokémon and collecting experience points is always part of the process. But in addition, you will have to overcome special challenges, as you are used to doing in missions. These are tasks like “Catch 200 Pokémon in a single day” or “Energize a Legendary Pokémon 20 times”. Where some tasks can still be done very well, but it becomes more and more difficult to reach level 50, so level 50 should be a real honor for those who get there.

From November 30th, the first bonus events should start, in which there are more experience points to accumulate than usual, to give coaches a good chance of leveling. Good to know for all hardworking trainers: Experience points that you have gained since reaching level 40 should be added to the next level. This means that you might “just” need to complete the challenges to get to the next level. In addition, the Pokémon can be increased beyond level 40, but this requires special candies. If you manage to reach level 41 before the end of this year, Niantic will give you special bonuses, like a Gyarados hat, new sunglasses, and several other items, such as potions, bullets and more.

Many new features have been announced for Pokémon GO

The seasons are also new, with which the expectation of new events is to relax. Each season is active for three months. During this period, depending on the season, more Pokémon of one type appear in your region than others. At the end of the season, the Pokémon that appear the most often switch places with the others. The hemisphere in which it is located must also play an important role. The first “Celebration Season” is set to begin on December 1, 2020 from 8 a.m. and will also feature 15-20 new Pokémon from the Kalos region (including Chespin, Fennekin, Pyroar, Froakie, Fletchling).

Of course, the GO Battle League (GBL) is receiving improvements as well. In addition, the balance of fights is damaged, because in future trainers with high-level Pokémon, at levels 41-50, will also switch to fights. For the highest league rankings, 21, 22, 23 and 24, “Ace”, “Veteran”, Specialist ”and“ Legend ”rating badges will be earned in the future.

It’s only natural that many Pokémon GO trainers are eager to catch the new Pokémon, with more expected to appear in the coming months. But also the fact that level 40 has ceased to be the upper limit, should already motivate many users. Mainly because the challenges are more and more demanding. With the mega developments, many players are still hoping to be able to maintain them permanently, and not just be able to use the corresponding full-size Pokémon for attacks for several hours, as before.

Last but not least, a special celebratory event will take place from December 2-8, and there will also be a Mysterious Raid Egg, from which an even more mysterious Pokémon can hatch later.
