Samsung president has passed away

Samsung has announced the passing of Lee Kun-Hee, the company’s 78-year-old president. We’re talking about someone who has given a great deal of his life to the company, being one of the main contributors to Samsung’s greatness today.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lee Kun-hee, president of Samsung Electronics,” the group announced. “President Lee passed away on October 25 with his family, including Vice President Jay Y. Lee by his side,” Samsung continued. “President Lee was a true visionary who transformed Samsung into a global leader in innovation and industrial power,” the group said. Samsung concludes by saying that “your legacy will be eternal”.

Lee Kun-Hee dies at 78

Lee Kun-Hee had been bedridden for just over six years, having undergone surgery in 2014 after a heart attack and being treated for lung cancer in the late 1990s. Samsung, son Lee Jae -Yong, has been the head of the company since Lee Kun-Hee’s first health accident.

Samsung is currently the number one manufacturer in some categories, including smartphone sales. The company’s overall turnover is equivalent to one-fifth of South Korea’s gross domestic product, making it crucial to the economic health of that country.
