Even before the console reaches the vast majority of users, as it won’t happen until next Thursday, November 19, Sony is releasing a new firmware version for PlayStation 5, which brings the console to version 20.02-02.25. 00, and which has 886 MB.
As of this writing, Sony has yet to reveal the changelog for the update, but several users have reported that the console has seen a significant increase in performance.
Here are the only notes Sony gives about this firmware update for PlayStation 5:

The update in question is expected to resolve some of the reported issues that indicate freezes when using external storage devices and that occur after users “shut down” their console to sleep mode. What’s more interesting is that with today’s update, the PS5 firmware has gone from version 02.20 to version 02.25.
