The 10 finalists of the 6th edition of the PlayStation Talents Awards in Portugal are already known

PlayStation revealed through a special episode of PlayStation MODE (which we can see below), the 10 finalists of the 6th edition of the PlayStation Talents Awards in Portugal, an initiative to support the development of video games in our country, which aims to challenge Portuguese talents.

In the video, Ricardo Correia, the coordinator of the PlayStation Talents program in Portugal, joins Gonçalo Morais to reveal and share with the community, firsthand, the 10 projects vying for the title of Best Game of 2020. In this One Episode Special also presents the first images of each of these finalist projects.

The 10 finalists of the 6th edition of the PlayStation Talents Awards in Portugal are:

Evil below (Fábio Barbosa / José Ortega): A horror game where the sounds we make while breathing or speaking into the microphone serve as a warning to enemies around us. Lyto (Trochi Studio): A platform puzzle with several mechanics, making the resolution of each level smooth. Nur (Bedbed): An adventure game with a colorful world built using voxels. Detective Philadelphia (Cinema Shark Productions): A point and click first-person game in which we investigate a murder involving the protagonist’s best friend. Maia: Unhappily Ever After (Perétuos Games): A puzzle platform game that addresses the issue of domestic violence and abusive relationships. Careto (MA Studios): An edutainment puzzle-platform, which addresses the ancient Portuguese tradition of carnival in northern Portugal. Spyre (funguy network): A first-person game with shooting and puzzle-solving elements using hack mechanics. Pecaminosa (Cereal Games): An action RPG with police elements developed with pixel art inspired by a film noir environment. Paint it Black (DeadCoolKids): A third-person narrative exploration game that explores the pain and depression associated with the divorce process. 63 Little Pieces (Samuel Sousa): A challenging puzzle game in which we slide cubes.

In the absence of face-to-face events this year, the 10 finalists of the 6th edition of the PlayStation Talents Awards in Portugal will be present at two digital events in November: the Loading Zone and Indie X. In the loading zone, the Lisboa Games Week (LGW) area) dedicated to the national development industry, the 10 finalists will be presented. The loading zone will take place on LGW’s website, where trailers and information about each game will be available. The second presence is again included in Indie X, a Portuguese indie festival included in the digital edition of Moche XL Games World, which will take place this year online, from November 1 to 15. Here, the finalist studios will have access to a B2B program that includes 12 international publishers. The finalist games will be streamed live whenever possible with the authors present, and during the days of the event, the public will be able to play first-hand, in the comfort of their own homes, demos of some of these games.

Recall that the winner of the PlayStation Award for best game, in addition to having the opportunity to see his game published on PlayStation 4, which can reach more than 113 million consoles worldwide, will also receive € 10,000 in cash for the development of the video game, a physical space in Lisbon to work on the project for 10 months, a promotion and marketing campaign on PlayStation channels worth € 50,000 and a PS4 development kit.

It should also be remembered that the PlayStation Talents Awards began in Portugal in 2015 and since then, more than 300 projects have participated. And that, during the first edition, the winning game was highly acclaimed by national and international critics Strikers Edge, from Fun Punch Games. The following four editions were won for the music experience for PlayStation VR, VRock, for the epic Little San adventure, Out of Line, for the vehicle combat game set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi environment , KEO, and for the Alzheimer’s disease-themed first-person narrative experience, Back Then, currently in development.
