We finally arrived on November 19, which means that PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, are finally “available” for purchase in Portugal, a week after the console launched in Japan and the United States.
Availability is a word that may not fit this situation very well, as at the time of writing you won’t find any PlayStation 5s available in any store. No stock is available in physical stores on Sony’s request. Remember that the PS5 is built on an RDNA2 architecture (AMD) guaranteeing a limit of 10.2 tflops (variable downward depending on thermal availability).
The console has around 660 GB of usable storage and comes with a tactile feedback controller, as well as the Astro Playroom game pre-installed. Several games are already available, whether it’s Spider-Man Miles Morales, the remastered Demon’s Souls or Sackboy a Big Adventure. Games from third-party publishers are also featured at launch, such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, DiRT 5, Godfall or The Pathless.
PlayStation 5 availability issues
Bloomberg guarantees that Sony faces major component availability issues. Only 11 million PS5s can be produced by March 2021. That number is the same as the PS4 at launch, as global demand is much higher due to containment, and something similar is happening with the Xbox Series X, however, this latter has less demand.
