This year’s Lisbon Games Week has been postponed to November 2021

The AIP Foundation, as the organizing body of Lisboa Games Week, announced a few moments ago that due to the global situation that currently exists with the COVID-19 pandemic, and following the recommendations of the DGS – Direction General of Health and WHO – World Health Organization, has decided to postpone the 7th edition of Lisboa Games Week, scheduled from November 19 to 22, to November 25 to 28, 2021.

This is a consensual decision which results from a permanent consultation of all the Partners and Sponsors of the event and, by a continuous assessment of the risk inherent in the realization of an entertainment and mass event, of which the large majority, over 60,000 visitors, are represented by young people of school age and study visits from all over the country. The specificities of this event, very different from those of a fair or professional event, advise against its taking place with the necessary safety conditions inherent in other events recently organized by the AIP Foundation.

7th edition of Lisboa Games Week postponed to November 2021

The event organizer, partners and sponsors are already preparing the 7th edition, maintaining all the ambition of the model designed for 2020 and following with particular attention the new trends and dynamics of the market, with the aim of bring all the news and the best content to its target audience in 2021.

But as “Play Beyond Reality” is in the DNA of Lisboa Games Week, the event will not be stopped! It will soon announce the main content that it will make available to fans and subscribers even in 2020 and in the digital realm.

Lisboa Games Week will also ensure in the digital field and in 2020, part of the content planned as part of the educational service of the LBV, as well as all the dynamics of networking and doing business for its field of promotion of creators and companies of national video games virtual and augmented reality, LGW Loading Zone, internationally.

The organization of the event cannot fail to thank all the support expressed by the partners and sponsors who, over the years, have helped to affirm the Lisboa Games Week as the biggest video game event in Portugal, taking into account this decision difficult to postpone. Together, they confidently await a full comeback in 2021.
